Firstly, sorry for my bad english. Spent some days in Thailand… so I haven’t been using English for some time. :P

Back from Phuket. A tough sailing. I’m kinda lucky to sail to 3 overseas port in my NS life. Never does a NSF have such a privilege. I think if I had sailed to Taiwan, I would had strike the bingo. But never mind… who bothers anyway. Going to Phuket was not exactly fun compared to Pattaya. Things there are so.. so.. for tourists. I find the city dull. Only the Ang Moh will like this kind of city, drink eat and sleep. That’s why they do everyday right? No wonder so fat.

Luckily, my group of friends there brightened the trip. My first day shore leave was with Mong, Soh, Alan and Jason. They were fun. Soh always brought us to the wrong direction. We nearly got “lost” in a deserted land! Fortunately, Mong - the “leader”, directed us the correct way. Phew~ Probably he has a good instinct, or.. he had been there before?? Jason and me were busying snapping photos. Hey, Jason is really good at photography. The first day shore leave ended with like… 30% of the ship crew drunk.

Jason said “Weirong, remember to wake me up tomorrow” at least 10 times.

My second day shore leave was with Jason most of the time. Talking to him did open my mind. Honestly, I learnt some things from him. We talked everything under the sun. From our pre-enlist life to gossip to science to philosophy to Mayan Calendar.

Back home. It was a busy Saturday. First, my brother and I went to Funan to look for the new 21.5 inch imac. My brother sms-ed me the day before that he wanted an imac; and I agreed. I would like to spend 800 bucks on this machine. A barely tough decision! Unfortunately, when we got there, we realise that they were selling the old 24 inch imac. Not the one that we want! I was really unhappy to spend my morning away like that! Oh yar, I just went to Apple website and it says “Pending Agency Approval”. Shit. I should have seen it earlier. Never mind…

My dad then lead me to his office to solve wireless internet connection problem on his computer. It was a piece of cake.

In the evening, it was my dad’s birthday celebration at a Chinese restaurant. We hadn’t celebrated birthday in a Chinese restaurant for a long time. Usually we have international buffet or japanese meal. I enjoyed the Shark’s fin soup and lobster…

Then we headed to Tangs at the Orchard. Initially, the plan was to look for Nixon watches to console myself since I couldn’t buy the imac. Opps… Hehe… But the staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful! They ignored me when I stood there for some time. They even talked among themselves. So, I walked away… I walked past….
Fred Perry - Nope… I promise myself not to by another Fred Perry as everyone owns one..
Lacoste - The staff was not around. Another weird booth.
    FCUK - Too big. I don’t like.
Lastly, I walked to Superdry booth. The polo tee is super cool. The cutting super-ly fits me! It would be a crime not to buy. Haha… It costs super high too.

Back from Tioman! Finally… the miserable 12 days sailing. If I had not gone for shore leave there, I would have been onboard for 12 DAYS STRAIGHT! Mind you, 12 days in the confined space is damn boring. OK, enough of that. Next two weeks, I will be at Phuket. Certainly it will be alot fun than Tioman and alot more photos to take!

Though ORD-ing soon, I still learnt a number of things during this trip. The new NAV OJT pushed me out of my ‘comfort zone’ to be his so-called mentor. It really transformed me from a CPL with ‘heck-care’ attitude to a CPL with much more responsibility. My reporting improved and I provided crucial information that the OOW wanted. I also got the chance to help NO to do small boat clearance. (It was not easy at all!) This trip also reaffirmed to me that I am the best junior NAV(I don’t care what others say, but I feel its really a fact! And I deserve CFC. HA!)

    Fun…. But, tiring - mentally.
